SERVICE YOUR KILN REGULARLY AND
ENJOY YEARS OF HAPPY POTTING
Not only will regular maintenance of your kiln save money, it will assist in retaining its asset value. I know you only want to pot, but minor maintenance can mean the difference between having a kiln that fires well or not at all.
- Vacuum after every second or third fire – take care around the brittle electric elements.
- If elements pop out of their groove, support them with ceramic pins. If you attempt to push them back in the element will break.
- Fibre can part from walls / doors and kiln roof. If this occurs paint the area with fibre wash.
- Kiln wash shelves every six months.
